International Women’s Leadership Honoree “Trailblazer” / Diversity Panelist

Kimberly Wood has been a professional pilot and instructor for nearly 20 years.  She holds a degree in Aviation Management from Florida Institute of Technology as well as her pilot and dispatcher certificate ratings. During her time at FIT, she was captain of the Falcons Precision Flight Team and competed in national competition for two years.  She has had the opportunity to visit over 20 countries and flown in 46 states domestically.  Becoming a captain in the Airbus 320, she has taught in that aircraft as well as the Boeing 737 series.  Kim is also a part of her local union, serving as Chairperson of the Pass Travel Committee at her commercial airline that she now works at as a commercial airline First Officer.

Kimberly has a blended family, lovingly joining with her husband to help raise her step daughter alongside of her own infant daughter.  Together as a family, they help feed the homeless at Stranahan Park in Fort Lauderdale, and even donated her hair with her teenage daughter to make wigs for women with cancer.

Her hobbies include writing and reading nonfiction and she enjoys meeting new people from all walks of life; helping them to reach their goals and pursue their passion. She has a second-degree black belt in martial arts, is currently studying Spanish, and working towards a second Degree in Finance. Kimberly’s love and interest in personal finance led her to obtaining her credentials as a Tax Practitioner and becoming Vice President of Project Management for Tesoco Financial Corporation.
