Laura Diaz has been working in media for more than a decade.
After graduating from the University of Florida in 2005, Laura started her career as a TV news anchor and reporter for the Fox and NBC affiliates in Monroe, Louisiana.
From there she jumped to the anchor desk in Orlando, Florida to work for the CBS affiliate WKMG-TV.
But it turns out, television wasn’t her passion and took a leap of faith. The last 6 years she’s been working in radio as co-host of the #1 rated morning show in Central Florida “Johnny’s House” on XL 106.7.
Her activism in the community has been vast since she’s an Orlando native. She says the city has given her so much and it’s only fair to give a little back.
From tutoring at the adult literacy league to creating a free forum for new moms to learn about postpartum depression, a mental illness that she says nearly took her down…but she climbed out of the darkness and kept fighting.
Her latest venture is to change the negative stigma facing feminism today with her hashtag campaign and video series called “Face of a Feminist”.
