About Shelly

Shelly Tygielski

After spending almost 20 years in Corporate America immersed in Fortune 1000 organizations, and the past decade as a high-ranking executive in public and privately-held companies, Shelly turned to teaching “modern-life mindfulness” full-time, with a special emphasis on the business sector and athletic organizations.

As someone who has run large departments and companies, and spent a lifetime juggling personal, professional and philanthropic pursuits, Shelly turned to mindfulness twenty years ago to help her achieve a work-life balance and found that she was also able to improve effectiveness, focus and her success in business. What she also found was a path to fulfillment, raw vulnerability and true connection. For the past year, since retiring from Corporate America, Shelly has been offering seminars, workshops, retreats and classes on practical mindfulness practices in organizations around the
country in: Fortune 1000 companies, Inc. 5000 companies, non-profit organizations, government agencies and public schools.

In 2016, Shelly launched “America Meditates,” a grass-roots organization bringing 90-minute workshops to cities across America. America Meditates successfully produced and delivered its first workshop to a full house at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with close to 3,000 attendees. Shelly is credited with holding the largest mass meditation in the history of Broward County.

Shelly has also been credited as being the producer of the first mass meditation at a professional sporting event anywhere in the country, staging “HEAT Nation Meditation” in December 2016 at the AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami, through a partnership with the NBA® Team, the Miami HEAT®.

Shelly was selected by the South Florida Business Journal in 2014 as one of their “40 under 40” honorees and in 2015 as a “Most Influential Business Woman” in the region.

A passionate advocate of self-awareness, the benefits of meditation and the importance of enjoying the journey itself, Shelly has been teaching weekly classes for FREE on Hollywood Beach, Florida to tens of thousands of students. She started with 12 students in November of 2015 and now has a community of over 18,000 students with an average of 500 students attending each weekly class. Here is a link to a photo of her weekly class.

Shelly has taught over 30,000 students in the past year alone. She has written over 200 guided meditations and also shares contemplations each morning on her social media platform, which is consistently reposted by tens of thousands of her subscribers.

Shelly holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Miami and a Master’sDegree from Columbia University.

The group consists of about 4,000 actively engaged women and men. Shelly was sworn in as an Area Leader for the Broward Democratic Party (District 3) in April of 2017.
